I SUPPORT THE CANDIDACY OF BRIAN LAFFERTY06 Jan 2009 08:25 GMT-
I, Randy Kehrt[*], a life member of the USCF, hereby nominate Brian
Lafferty to serve on the Executive Board. We badly need dedicated

new modifications were not made.

Poor old Brian Lafferty..06 Jan 2009 01:53 GMT5
Poor Mr Brian Lafferty .. too late in life he discovered that if
you lie down with a dog you wake up with its fleas, and if you
wrassle to a pig, you get dirty while the pig gets only happy.
It is just as someone remarked on chessdiscussion would come out

How come some GMs don't play the sicilian defense regularly?  is that
okay?
like Michael Adams, Nigel Short, Vladamir Kramnik, Karpov.
Is there a reason why they don't play the sicilian defense?  I thought

If Anand were to play a match with Alekhine.  Let's say 20 games.  Who
do you think would win?  Assuming the Alekhine is playing at his

An extra minor piece ...02 Dec 2008 07:48 GMT1
Excerpt fom EG168 :
" Before giving some examples I should formulate a general rule: according
to classical endgame theory, one extra minor piece wasn't sufficient for a
win in a pawnless position.

Although I visited Reyjkavik Iceland twice during the 1972 Fischer-
Spassky Match, I was in most cases not involved in the events
described in his book. My name is never mentioned here or indeed in
any press reports about the match.

RGCP Grudge Match?06 Jan 2009 08:13 GMT-
How ironic that we have not had one since Sloan and Brok warmed up for
their litigation duel.
Maybe we would need a nine-round swiss to resolve all grudges at this

THere is only ONE way to save US Chess06 Jan 2009 06:30 GMT3
The solution is simple, yet obvious: our governing body should not be
a not-for-profit corporation.  Either strip USCF of this status, have

Dispute Resolution(?)05 Jan 2009 22:19 GMT3
While observing all the discourse in this newsgroup a question
