Hi,
My five year old son has lately been playing using Chessology and is
really enthusiastic so far.
Can anyone recommend some websites which are suitable for children of
a young age to explore?
Thanks to all,
Laura

Whatever you do, don't come here...it's full of pedophiles I've heard.
Try Chessbase.com, I think they have a kid's site, and they are a
professional group.

Ask your son to play Chess at GetClub.
Play Chess: http://www.GetClub.com/Chess.html
Here he can play with 5 levels of computer and also against human
opponents.
You can help him signup for free at GetClub. It takes 5 min to join
and start playing. Email Authentication is needed.
Once you play it recordseach of your game and you can show your games
to others in animation.

They don't, but some software they sell does. For example, go here:
http://www.playchess.com/
For about $30 a year, your youngster can sign up and play others
online in the "Kids Section" of playchess (run by CHessbase.com).
That may be outside your budget however, but it does let the youngster
play chess against other similar weak players. One thing about online
chess: mostly it's adults, and strong adults, playing chess online so
it's hard for beginners to win any games, unless, as here, there's a
"beginners" or "kids section".
